Mmmmmmm ..... orange chicken

We're in Washington D.C. for a wedding. Our hotel is the Ritz-Carleton in Arlington, Virginia, right next door to the Pentagon City Mall.

This is a photo of the food court in the mall. I was here with my children 20 years ago (August 1993) when I discovered "Panda Express" and orange chicken for the very first time. Of course I had to celebrate this anniversary by having some more. (I just finished.) I think that orange chicken is my number one fast food dish. I'm pretty sure that my daughter likes it too since she eats it at least once a week.

We have a nice view from our room of some big odd-shaped building.

RRY, If a real women is getting married to a real man, which field of science gets a bit weird ?

I don't understand your comment, as usual. But, in case you're interested, there are not going to be any men getting married at this wedding.

Since this appears to be a same sex marriage, I assume that it is going to take place in DC, as such is not recognized in the State of Virginia.

I don't see a hole in the side of that odd-shaped building. THIS PROVES 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!

Damned Illuminati.

A Real Woman (tm) would marry an analytical chemist.

All the other women live out their lives wishing they had.

You were in the DC area and you didn't stop to say hello?

I personally prefer mango chicken, or even red curry (thai) as I find orange chicken a bit tooo sweet and starchy. Here is a recipe that is as close as I could find just use less sugar if you don't want it to be too sweet.

Larry, I suspected you were attending a homosexual wedding. How do you deal with that from an evolutionary prospective, I wonder? I have a close relative who after many years of heterosexual marriage realized she was trapped in an evolutionary dead end-whatever that means. Anyway, a world renowned psychiatrists left her husband and 2 complitly innocent and confused kids for a man looking woman. As far as I know, the manlike woman has no dick

Oh fuck, this idiot's right. ALL SCIENCE IS A LIE. It was Mary and Gabriel, not Mary and Gabrielle. WE'RE ALL DESCENDANTS OF NOAH!!!!!

How do you deal with that from an evolutionary prospective,

The same way I deal with the inevitable expansion of our sun, obliterating any life remaining on our planet, the collapse of our galaxy into the central black hole or it's incipient collision with the Andromeda galaxy (which ever happens first) and the penultimate heat death of our universe.

What these events have in common is that they have absolutely no bearing on how we live our lives.

Which is apparently lost on those whose invisible friend sends them coded messages via voices in their heads telling them what to do with their (and others) genitalia.

And speaking of things to do with your genitalia, what say you go and fuck yourself.

Sorry. We flew in on Friday and went home on Sunday.

Next time, for sure.

@LouiseG

I have no trouble understanding love, joy, and companionship from an evolutionary perspective, or any other perspective for that. matter. Sometimes I have trouble understanding bigotry and stupidity. Those seem to be accidental by-products in the evolution of rational and humane beings.

So there are a number of problems you may be suffering under here, "LouiseG".

You could think that human sexual orientation is under the control of a single gene and therefore the "same sex attraction" allele should be rapidly eliminated from the gene pool.

You could be under the misapprehension that homosexual people never have offspring.

You could be under the misapprehension that heterosexual people never have homosexual children.

You could just not understand population genetics in general.

Or you could simply be a hateful, homophobic bigot.

My guess is "all of the above", and more.

Suffering? Really? In what sense? You have to be more specific.

"You could think that human sexual orientation is under the control of a single gene and therefore the "same sex attraction" allele should be rapidly eliminated from the gene pool."

How did you come to this conclusion? While you at it, why don't you tell us all what causes homosexuality from the prospective of genetics and evolutionary theory. I think this could be interesting and entertaining at the same time.

"You could be under the misapprehension that homosexual people never have offspring."

Well, let's just say, I have a hard time believing that after billions of years of copulation homosexual style, the reproductive organs will "decide" to evolve to the degree where it would allow couples of the same sex to bare children. Do you have some scientific proof to at least suggest such an event?

"You could be under the misapprehension that heterosexual people never have homosexual children."

I thought you were a psychiatrist? This is more than second time I have doubts about that.

"You could just not understand population genetics in general."

Well, It seems you do, so enlighten us all. We also have Joe here, though his specialty seems very narrow in PGs.

"Or you could simply be a hateful, homophobic bigot."

Again. How did you deduce this? As far as I know this is the first time we are discussing homosexuality? Can you read minds? That would be a nice attribute for a psychiatrist, if you were one though.

'My guess is "all of the above", and more."

Oh, I see now. You were guessing and not assessing me.
Then, you are wrong on all the above and more lol

Well, most believers in evolution do, whether they like it or not. The problem for most, not only evolutionists, is understanding HOW those feelings evolved and most importantly, WHY.

"Sometimes I have trouble understanding bigotry and stupidity. Those seem to be accidental by-products in the evolution of rational and humane beings."

I sympathize with you on that.

Oberski," And speaking of things to do with your genitalia, what say you go and fuck yourself."
I guess you have been practicing this "genitalia workout", since to the best of my knowledge, this is not yet possible even from an evolutionary prospective lol

Re Louise G.

Ever hear of former Vice-President Cheney's daughter Mary? She recently married her wife, Heather Poe, and has two natural children, a boy and a girl. And no, they arrived long after her partnership with Heather Poe began.

Newbie said...

Wow!!! This is must be another evolutionary miracle!!!
You are not saying that one of the women grew a penis naturally during the time after they've hooked up, are you? That would be a front page news of all the scientific mags in the world. Since it wasn't, I can only guess one thing.

I once told "LouiseG" she (or he , or it, or whatever) was as stupid as a sack full of doorknobs. I didn't realize at the time that this was a complement. A sack full of doorknobs would never post the reams of stupidity we've just witnessed here. Well done, "Louise"!

Re Louise G

Ms. Cheney conceived her children via in-vitro fertilization. Although the sperm donor is not known, it is suspected that he is a close relative of Poe's.

Well as far as I know, there are no other people on this blog who claim to be psychiatrists? I'm not. If you are a psychiatrist, you have not done your homework. You are just stupid, stupid, stupid product of this fricken society that produces one dimension robots who call themselves doctors.

Why didn't you say that in your first post? You have given Larry and his daughter false hopes

This is your final warning. You will be banned from Sandwalk the very next time you drag my family into a conversation that has nothing to do with them.

Faizal Ali said...

Well, I admit, I haven't researched the latest data on the subject. So please enlighten me: What are these new findings that demonstrate that heterosexuals never have homosexual children? And, please, be quick about it, as I suspect the end of your tenure as "LouiseG" on this blog is fast approaching.

colnago80 said...

LouiseG is doubtful that heterosexual couples may have homosexual children. Is she implying that former Vice-President Cheney and his wife are not heterosexuals?
