It's like the jehovah witnesses of reason
Are they seriously planning to show this shit to young people?
Without them vomiting?
This bunch of old farts (which include some of the worst of my list) are obviously completely out of touch with the existencial mood newer generations.
Nobody wants pontiffs, be them of religion or of..."reason"
congratulations: ypu may suceed in makign science look totally uncool, another stupid moral crusade
Let's just REASON for a moment
about all this mindless talk about "science values" and "reason"(NOTICE: "values". Anybody flinched,at least? anybody reminded of my constant whining against the "moralists of reason"?)
Do you think people will get cleverer by "upholding science values"? What I mean is, does it really make them use reason? or do they just wallow in the reconfortation of "knowing to be on the right side"?
Are we simply asking people to deposit their faith in "using REASON" or "science" if they have no true understanding, if they haven't learned any scientific truths for themselves? In fact this counts even for well-learned scienists, since there is always a frontier of science that he does not know much about, whether he admits it, or not (i.e. is an asshole)
Do we want people to accept evolution because "science an reason say so" and "science is the way"? or because they have actually examined the evidence? In fact without examining the evidence, no matter how hard someone may express his loyalty to evolution and to the flag of reason: he has not used reason. He has not put any real science-thinking to work. He has blindly accepted based on a "rationalization", some "cultural" reconfortation, as delusional as so many religious ones.
Guess what? If you recruit masses with pinhead arguments and propaganda, well, you get pinheads. Crap in, crap out.
I'm not touching that center for inquiry with a barger's ole.
