GrrlScientist on the Sandwalk
If you send me a picture of you on the Sandwalk I'll post it here. GrrlScientist recently visited Down House and took some pictures of the Sandwalk [Visiting Darwin's Home, Part 4: The Sandwalk].
She is very shy so there are no pictures of her, or Prof. Steve Steve, on the Sandwalk. In spite of that oversight, I'm stealing her pictures so I can share them with Sandwalk readers.
PZ and I visited Down House two years ago on a trip to London. We were away for about eight days and we also visited the Natural History Museum, Wesminster Abby (Darwin's tomb), Oxford, and a few historic pubs. I think the total cost was about $1500 each. I wonder how many people would be interested in such a trip if I (we?) were to organize another?

Hi Larry,
I met you and PZ on the last Down house trip you made with Robin, and I'd definitely be up for it again.
I might be able to help out a bit more this time too as I am not commuting insane distances and have a little more time. I have a few contacts at the London Skeptics In The Pub if you fancy a larger English contingent..
Cheers
Louis
Well I already live in the UK, but I would love to join up with you.
Hello,
I'm a London-based Music professor(Royal Academy) with a keen interest in the sciences, would be most interested in the goings-on.

I too am a skeptics-in-the-pub Londoner, and would be interested.
Tempting. It would depend on when, though. Next summer?
I'm interested in such a trip in 2009, and would like to get back out to Cambridge again as well. Just don't make it the same time as the NCSE's Grand Canyon trip.
Hi, I would be most interested in such a trip if the timing was convenient. Got to this blog from Pharyngula, I am based in DC.

I live in London - if you and PZ come, I'll make sure you get a warm welcome! (Warmth only figurative, since literal warmth can never be guaranteed in London.
Another londoner happy to join you at Down house! Also happy to buy drinks if you and PZ give us a 'talk' (on anything!).
Yes, please come over. Visit Shrewsbury too in February.
I went to Down House about 40 years ago and we got a special tour because our french mistress lived next door. I wish I'd appreciated Darwin more then...
I was already thinking of a similar trip next year for the anniversary. If the timing would work out, I would be interested.
I second BJ - The NHM Darwin Centre also opens next year. And it looks awesome...

I'm an evolutionary anthropology PhD student in Germany now, but I'd love to join in...my partner is from Hampshire England and we're back there a lot anyway, so I'd definitely be up for it.
Definitely interested in going, and being in the UK makes it that little bit easier.
Yet another Londoner here. I would be happy to try and help anyway I can.
Larry, if the offer is to join you and his tentacled greatness, and you wouldn't mind the company of a well-mannered theist, then I could definitely go for the trip you describe. Summer of '09?
Sincerely....Scott Hatfield
I would love to go !!
Hi, I live just South of London, about 8 miles from Downe. It would be great to meet up once you're here. :-)
Looks like there's a few of us already over here in the U.K.
Would welcome the chance to meet up and buy you a beer if you make the trip.
I'm another from the UK, and also eager to help in any way I can. Look forward to it!
I'd love to come! I'm presently studying parasitology at the University of Nottingham, so it's not too far.
Sounds like it would be fun if I can work the timing out.
I live down in the South-East but haven't actually gone to Down House yet; I only really looked it up after seeing it on GrrlScientist's blog.
I have no idea if I could go at the same time, other commitments and all, but if I can lend a hand let me know, I'd love to see a journal blog of such a visit :)
I'd love to come along. I am a fellow Londoner along with a number of your commenters too. So, when's it happening?
