Software Developer Discusses Junk DNA

Randy Stimpson is a software developer who believes in Intelligent Design Creationism. He sometimes post comments on Sandwalk and Doppelganger read some of those comments. He (Doppelganger) decided to visit Randy's blog Intelligent Designer to see whether the postings on the blog were any better than the ones in the Comments section on Sandwalk.

Guess what? They aren't.

Randy Stimpson makes some incredibly stupid remarks about junk DNA and Doppelganger is more than happy to point out the many errors [Another creationist computer software-type pontificates on things he has no business pontificating on...].

Another data point for the Salem Conjecture.

Having read a few posts on Randy's blog, he seems like a mostly bright fellow who unfortunately has no theoretical framework wherein to consider evolution.

A vastly useful paper to get comp sci or engineering types to start thinking in the right terms (but oddly, one which many biologists fail to appreciate) is:

Thompson et al. An Evolved Circuit, Intrinsic in Silicon, Entwined with Physics. ICES '96: Proceedings of the First International Conference on Evolvable Systems (1996) pp. 390-405

Thanks, Larry.

You'll note that Stimpson engages in the usual creationist whining as well - claiming that my post consisted of ad hominems ( he spells it "ad holmium", which is funny because he alludes to my typos, which are not clear misspellings) and insults and such.

Man, do these guys think way too much of their abilities (creationists with engineering/computer backgrounds, that is).
