200,000 Visits
According to Sitemeter I've had 200,000 visits to Sandwalk since I started last November. I have to admit that I'm fascinated by these numbers. It's exciting to see that some people are reading Sandwalk and it's fun to find out where they're coming from and which articles are the most popular.
When my six month trial period was up, I expressed some disappointment about the popularity of Sandwalk [My Six Months Are Up!]. Things look a little better now so I've decided to give it another six months and see how it works out. I don't know what I'll do when I run out of Nobel Laureates.

Your ever-increasing traffic is well deserved- this has developed into one of the best biology blogs around (and I'm sure it will still be even when you've run out of Nobelists!). I understand your reluctance to be assimilated by the ScienceBorg but it may be slightly regrettable that you passed up a possible chance to bring the good stuff you post here to a somewhat wider audience.

Then you can start on the winners of the Phillip E. Johnson Award for Liberty and Truth.

Those are impressive numbers. Very good for a scientific blog. Congrats!
Hopefully, you will be encouraged to continue. I'm sure your readership will continue to increase.

Thanks. I still don't have a good feel for what to expect. I'd like to have a lot more discussion and debate on Sandwalk. Perhaps I'm being intimidated by Pharyngula and some of the other blogs that get a lot more traffic.

Okay. That's good for another two or three weeks. What then? :-)

I'm sure there are seminal experiments in biology that didn't lead to a Nobel Prize that you can write about. Myself I'd like to see the occasional Amateur Naturalist/Biologist type column.
