Vote

There's an election coming up in Canada and the USA. Canada's is first.

No matter what you think about the candidates it's important to go out and vote. I plan on voting several times at least once for somebody. I don't know who, yet.

This is a really, really cool video made by a bunch of people you may recognize. Even if you've already voted in the advance polls you should watch this video. It will make you laugh (unless you're offended by four letter words and women removing their bras).

Halle Berry is irritatingly sincere.

The good thing about this video is that it talks about a bunch of stuff that only liberals really care about. So hopefully it will persuades liberals to vote and conservatives to stay at home.

Well, they do mention "gun control" at one point. Seemed pretty neutral, just sort of thrown out there, but otherwise yes, most of what they talk about appear to be things that people who would normally vote Democrat would talk about, too.

If you don't yet know who to vote for, there is a website recommending candidates based on the idea of voting cleverly to get the conservatives out (so voting for the left-leaning candidate most likely to beat the conservatives in that particular riding rather than your favourite party). It's under the umbrella of the environment, but it works for other things too.
I can't explain it very well, but it's here: http://www.voteforenvironment.ca/
It also has graphs of who is ahead in every riding. I can't vote (not Canadian) but I'm enjoying clicking around on the site and seeing the political distributions of various parts of Canada.
