Old Tools

Eva has posted some photos of old lab equipment and tools [Old Tools]. Check them out to see if you recognize anything.

Here's another contribution. How many readers know what this is and what it was used for in prehistoric times? (Click to embiggen.)

  1. That looks like a 5.25" (13.3 cm) floppy disk. Hmmmph. You haven't lived if you haven't handled an 8" (20 cm) floppy.

Both types are good as shims to level a shaky table leg.

  5. If science is being knocked back to the stone age in Canada, you might find there will be a bit of a demand for these old tools from prehistoric times.

  6. It's a "lazer" disc that you must flip over to watch the second hour of the Flesh Gordon movie.

    Oops I meant Flash Gordon.

  9. It looks like the disk that I used to have to put into the computer before I put in the disk for Friendlyware, which featured such cutting-edge games as Hangman, Memory, and Nevada Dice.

I'm still traumatized by the fact that I never received my pet squirrel prize from the Memory game!!

We can fix that. Next time you're home I'll trap one of the squirrels in the back yard and you can take it back to Belgium with you!
