Dinner at Vij's in Vancouver

Everybody loves Vij's. We were lucky. We arrived late at 5:20 for the first sitting when the restaurant opens at 5:30. The lineup was not as big as I've seen in the past and we were able to get seated when Vij opened up.

Left to right; Gordon Moran, Me, Chris Hogue, Jerry Coyne.

We talked about computer games. travel, India, Singapore, food, science, books, religion, evolution, politics, and solved most of the problems of the world. (Beer helps.) The food was delicious. Check out the entire meal, with photos, on Jerry's blog: Noms: Vij’s Indian restaurant in Vancouver.

    This being Coyne, likely not.

  3. He's as carnivorous as a... as a... Strangely, when I think of Coyne, no carnivorous mammal comes to mind.

    1. The very first thing that comes to mind when I think of Coyne is that little carnivore that goes "miaow".

    2. Why would you think that? It's been 40 minutes since he posted pictures of one.

  4. If all the world's problems were solved this way, it would be a much better place.

  5. Larry,

Did you have a chance to ask Coyne how the hell he f***k up the religion/faith difference in his not so famous book? He is a professor and world's leading atheist who can't distinguish between the two? If I were Coyne I would fire the book editor and the publishing company. Then again, if I were J. Coyne, I would feel embarrassed. Unfortunately, embarrassment is a lacking quality among of a lot followers of Darwin for obvious reasons...

  6. If the words "Vancouver" and "restaurant" are in a post, chances are 99 out of a 100 that it will be delightful (and I will be just a little jealous :) ).
