Bad Faith Awards

From the New Humanist
After a nomination period that saw you put forward those you feel have made the most egregious contributions to irrationalism and superstition during the course of this year, we've whittled them down to a shortlist of eight. Now all that's left for you to do is vote for the person you think should take the Bad Faith crown from last year's winner, Pope Benedict XVI.
Here's the list. I'm not going to tell you who I voted for.

Lauren Booth
Prince Charles
Baroness Warsi
Sheikh Maulana Abu Sayeed
Ann Widdecombe
Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi
Cardinal Walter Kasper
Pastor Terry Jones

  3. If progressives in Alaska can do it, then by golly, I'm gonna write-in YOU, Lar!--After all, in the 4 years that you've run this outfit, you've spread more than your fair share of emotionally-tinged disinformation; laughably discreditable junk-science claims based on fantastical, unproven presuppositions; and above all, have been one of the fiercest and emotionally-motivated warriors for your religion.

  4. Tastes like sour grapes to me jcc. Feelings hurt because you didn't make it onto the list ?

Not to worry, without your moral and material support those folks would be nothing but urine soaked wack jobs on a street corner ranting about armageddon.

Take heart in the fact that it's the little people like you that elevate their patriarchal, misogynistic, xenophobic, genocidal ravings from plain old hate speech to an undeserved position of moral authority.

Wow, only an atheist could misconstrue my pointing out an example of someone doing a disservice to his/her faith (not that anyone can do justice to atheism) as somehow being my endorsement of the actions of those in the thread topic. But then again, coming from someone who couldn't figure out that "Lar" is the diminutive of Larry, I shouldn't be surprised...

That little rant just looks like a lot of hot air and projection.

Telling that you don't give a single example to back up any of your outlandish claims.
