Like John Wilkins, I too have visited Italy.Whereas John is interested in spandrels, I was more interested in the native wildlife.
John is there now [An Adaptationist in Piazza San Marco], I was there in prehistoric times.
John is old and wise, I was young and naive. (I didn't even know about spandrels back then.)
I had a Michelin guide, I bet John doesn't have a Michelin guide!
Going by the statues behind you, I'm guess you were "touring" the red-light district.

ReplyDeleteWere you in Piazza San Marco there? When I was in Venice, I paid a Euro for a bag of corn to feed them. As soon as I opened it up, I got swarmed. This was around the time when everyone was freaking out about Asian bird flu, and some American tourists gave me dirty looks, as though I was already infected.
