Bill Maher Talks to Francis Collins

Catching up on my blog reading, I discovered this on ERV. It's really funny. .... What's that you say? It's not supposed to be funny?

Any further news on whether Francis Collins is going to be head of NIH?

  1. I saw this movie (Religulous) in theatres and I absolutely loved it. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you do.

  2. How embarrassing. Says the same stupid stuff that any regular pew-goer says. Talks about evidence and eye-witnesses and then in the next breath back-pedals. Even without that, does it really matter if the NT reads as if it were written by eye-witnesses? The very idea that this is sufficient to establish a miracle is preposterous and any scientist should blush to say it.

  5. Collins' defence makes the whole thing worse. If he knows that he doesn't understand NT scholarship or theology then what the hell is he doing blathering on about it, especially since he knows it's on camera and with a hostile audience?

His defence hardly holds water since he says far worse on his horrid BioLogos.

Thank you for "horrid"; it it is most succinct and accurate description of BioLogos I've come across.

  7. Of course there is overwhelming evidence. There's like a zillion Bibles in the world. All over the place. That's a lot of evidence.
