Here's Mat Nisbet explaining why Richard Dawkins is such an evil person. In the second part of this video he tries to explain why scientists don't like Matt Nisbet very much.
The most interesting question is near the end of the video when he states that no one would ever criticize the National Academies for misrepresenting science in order to make it seem compatible with religion. He knows that this is not true (e.g., An Example of Framing by Matt Nisbet). We have a word for people who delberately say things they know to be untrue ... it's called framing.
Dawkins doesn't say we should teach evolution to undermine religion, he simply says that once people do understand evolution it can be very corrosive to religious beliefs. We don't teach it to destroy evolution, but that may be a consequence.

ReplyDeleteNo it's his *lovely* fake tan.
Honestly, people need to stop fueling his attention whoring. By now, it's pretty clear that he has nothing useful to say and his goal is to piss people off in attempt to get attention and/or site hits.
This doucheweasel still exists?

I disagree. Nisbet is getting a lot of attention from people who should know better (i.e. National Academies of Science, Science magazine, scientific confrences). We need to get the word out that he is not speaking for the majority of scientists.
Whoa! According to Nisbet Dawkins is like O'Reilly?! Yah, okay, except Dawkins' talking points are, um, logical and TRUE!
ReplyDeleteSo what if he lies more often than he speaks? Look at his hair!
