Chautauqua Bookstore Is Ready for Evolution

The Chautauqua bookstore is ready for a week of evolution. There's going to be a lot of talk about the compatibility of science and religion so it's a bit disappointing to see that the atheist perspective isn't represented. A few weeks ago they had The God Delusion and God Is Not Great on display but now they are missing.

  1. Also missing:

The scientific theory of how life on earth began.

Without one, IDcreationists can continue to argue that "God did it."

The failure of biochemistry to solve the problem of the origin of life is the great embarrassment of science today, and great comfort to superstition.

  2. Lovely seeing Behe's more recent upheaval prominently displayed

    1) why is the current lack of a detailed account of the OOL an embarrassment? I don't find it embarrassing.

    2) so what if this is of great comfort to superstition? Science shouldn't be responsible for the misguided conclusions that some people choose to draw.

  4. Anonymous, you seem to be obsessed with the question of the origin of life on Earth.

Good for you, I'm glad there are people who feel a passion for such difficult subjects. Rather than constantly bringing it up here, on some blog, why not do some actual research? Your point that biochemists and evolutionary biologists should be deeply embarassed by not (yet) having an answer to your question would be much more convincing if you did have a good answer.
