Best Countires for Academic Research

From TheScientist [Best countries for Academic Research].

Judging by the results for the other categories (e.g. Top 40 US Academic Institutions, Top 10 International Academic Institutions) I don't think this is a serious poll. It follows that TheScientist isn't a credible magazine.

  1. There's an old Anglo Saxon word, who's modern usage comes to mind for surveys such as these -

    "Bollocks"

  3. India and Mexico are better countries to do research in than Spain? What a joke this survey is.

  4. The salient point about The Scientist is that it is the legacy of Eugene Garfield, who gave us the Citation Index as the sole measure of quality of a publication. So the rankings are likely based on that chestnut.
