148 Years Ago Today

John Wilkins tells us what happened 148 years ago today. Unfortunately, he doesn't tell us what happened today in Australia.

Check out The Corpus Callosum to see how much the historical event cost back then [Happy Birthday].

  1. Today Australia voted out a conservative government of 11 years and voted in a Labour government on a platform of ending an industrial relations system wildly biased towards employers, taking climate change seriously, and reviewing our commitment to Iraq.

John Howard, the outgoing Prime Minister, looks to have been beaten in his seat. If so he will be only the second Prime Minister in the history of Australia to loose his seat.

I think Austrlaia has just rejoined the real world.
