Happy Canada Day. When I was nine I was in Churchill, Manitoba for a Dominion Day celebration. It was pretty cool. An Inuit broadcast station was giving away 45s (this was 1969.) Mine was a Turtle's song Happy Together. Then later we went to visit a sled dog racer and her "crew" followed by an examination of a beached beluga and some iceberg-climbing along the beach.
They couldn't do the fireworks because the sun wasn't going down until 3:30 a.m.
I also was there on July 4, but for some reason they didn't celebrate anything on that day.
