    One other piece of advice that I should have mentioned: Get one bulb and test it out in all of your fixtures. The CF bulbs are bulkier than conventional incandescents, they have a large base (the ballast), and therefore might not fit into every fixture. You don't want to be left holding a bunch of these things that you can't use.
