I tried to explain what I was doing in the lab and she quickly demonstrated that my knowledge of genetics was not adequate to the task I had set for myself!

Later on I partially redeemed myself by showing her that I knew something about plants.

The difficulty of her papers got her into a bit of a mess in the 1950's. I think she stopped publishing because there were so many complaints about her papers.Larry Moranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05756598746605455848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37148773.post-52454897962312601062007-10-03T14:29:00.000-04:002007-10-03T14:29:00.000-04:00I'll say she had a sharp mind. Though I can no longer remember exactly which papers I presented, I still remember them as the most difficult papers I have ever tried to read, and goodness knows how I managed to explain them to an audience (badly, I suspect). It must have taken extraordinary analytical powers- and a lot of intellectual courage- for her to arrive at the correct interpretation of her highly complex experimental results.Steve LaBonnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05315820864846104986noreply@blogger.com
