The Black Knight

It's been fun battling the IDiots over junk DNA but it's time for a break. For no particular reason I thought of this video.

I think it was Sean Carroll who first made an analogy between the Black Knight and creationists. At least, that's where I got it from when I used the analogy in a blog post a while back.

I thought I mentioned that there was no particular connection! :-)

In my case the black knight reference comes from talk.origins back in 1990. At least that's when I first saw it.

I'm pretty sure it goes back to the early days of talk.origins in the 1980s and probably even before that.

Yep, for sure. Some time mid 1990s. 15 years later, absolutely nothing has changed. Which just shows what a waste of time it is arguing with creationists. Like Usenet trolls, they are better ignored and not paid any attention to.

The Black Knight is a great stand-in for any of the Senior Fools . . .er, . . I mean Senior Fellows, who happily swim in the intellectual cesspool that is the Discovery Institute.

As much as I hate the DI, I have to admit that certain questions still trouble me. For example, why is PZ such an asshole? There must be an evolutionary explanation.
